Lipson, the SVP of Interactive Worldwide at Formosa Group, was presented the award by the previous Lifetime Achievement honoree, Leslie Ann Jones, a seven-time Grammy award winner. The ceremony also celebrated Paul Lipson, by awarding the industry icon with the G.A.N.G.’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The brand new audio from inside the fissure is cool, but there's a lot of blank space on the side and I wish they filled it with more sounds from the game (Atrus' opening monolog, Sirrus & Achenar clips, the linking sound, the sound that plays when you return from an Age, etc.) Still, that's a minor complaint given how fantastic this set is.“We are excited to be back in person at GDC for the first time since 2019 community is one of the founding principles of the organization, and there’s nothing quite like gathering together, in person to celebrate and recognize achievements by fellow members of the game audio community,” expressed Brian Schmidt, G.A.N.G president. I do wish that they included more goodies on Side D. But like all MYST puzzles, after 3 hours of cursing, pulling hair out, and swearing that it doesn't work, you figure it out in a matter of seconds and think "oh, freaking duh." One of the best sounding LPs I own.Īnd it turns out the slip cover is actually a puzzle! (Because it's super hard to get onto the sleeve). This is absolutely the way this soundtrack should be experienced. It's not a perfect pressing, I get some very light noise towards the end of sides A/B, but it almost doesn't matter because my God this sounds amazing! I cannot believe how deep this record sounds. This is outstanding! Everything in this set is gorgeous and obviously crafted with love. All I can do at this point is sell it and hope I break even, then throw the funds at the inevitable repressing in hopes that I get a better copy (not holding my breath).įangamer is repressing this, please do not pay hundreds for it! I'm doubly ticked that I paid an ebay scalper nearly double the original price. I'm fine with splatter/marble colored release for the kiddies and collectors, but for the love of god, please release audiophile black or natural PVC pressings for those of us that actually care about audio quality and listen on something that's a few leaps above Crosley's and silly bluetooth turntables. No, they don't suffer from static build up. Yes, these were cleaned (on an Okki Nokki). which should be of little surprise considering that it has far more marbling than the first record. Side C has more surface noise than Sides A and B, plus even MORE soft ticks. Side B doesn't have the high pitched screeching, but has the same consistent surface noise and slightly more soft ticks. Side A has a weird, faint high pitched rotational screeching, low but consistent surface noise, and some soft ticks. Unfortunately, they HAD to press it on trendy splatter/marble colored vinyl, which is a real shame. The mastering on this is really good, with loads of dynamic range.
